The Electronic Records Archives (ERA) is an office of the United States National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) which was officially established in 2000.
Initial planning and development of ERA began in 1997. The President and Congress supported ERA with appropriations.
In 2008, ERA accepted its first records from four pilot agencies.
